moose / mom
Marker, Wax, Watercolour
This is a drawing I did of my mom while visiting Cape Breton in 1992. Having just seen a moose in the wilderness shortly before, my parents interpreted it as an illustration of that experience. It was featured on our Christmas card that year with the addition of a wax relief snowfall. Because everyone was so enthusiastic about it, I went along with the moose idea until some twenty years later, but was plagued by guilt about it the entire time. My art career was founded on a lie!
